Summertime is the most popular time of year for weekend travelers and cross country travelers. People go on weekend getaways, cross country vacations, and so on, and maybe you do too. Typically vacation is a time when most of us try to forget about work, but as a business owner, you may think differently. Of course, you’ll try to forget about work while you’re away, but we all know you can never fully forget, since the success of your business is your responsibility. Fortunately, you can easily turn your vacation time into an advertising push, with very little effort, and not to mention cost!
Have you ever considered using your RV as advertisement space? You may already be utilizing trailer graphics or vehicle wraps, but why not wraps your RV? An RV has a lot more surface space than a car or even an SUV, so use that space to put your vacation time to work for you! With that much surface space, your trailer graphic design possibilities are endless. You can advertise a different product or service on each side; use multiple large images, and so much more! If your business relates to outdoor activities, traveling, leisurely activities, and other things related to vacations, you’re already reaching your target audience!
If you’re not traveling very far, you’ll still likely reach a different audience than you would with your usual trailer graphic advertising route around town. You’ll be reaching people who are traveling close to and beyond the area you’re traveling to. Don’t forget about the toll booth operators, police officers and construction crews you’ll be passing; they’re all consumers too. Once you reach your destination, whether it’s a campground, an RV park, or your aunt’s house, as long as your RV is parked out in the open, it will even advertise for you in your sleep!
If you’re traveling cross country, you’ll be reaching a much larger audience. You can even plan your travels so you drive along busy highways at prime times to reach more consumers. If you own a small, local business, this could be an excellent opportunity to begin a nationwide launch. If you’re not sure that the nature of your business will work nationwide, advertising with trailer graphics on your RV may reach a small enough audience as you travel so you can test interest in other parts of the country. If you see your website hits increase during your travels, you can use internet tools to research the internet users’ demographic, and then tailor your nationwide campaign from there. You may also begin receiving phone call and email inquiries during or shortly after your trip. If you track what part of the country these inquiries are coming from, you may have just opened your business to the entire country!
